I just put cinder blocks on the back instead of water, sand, etc. It would be nice if Lifetime just made a base to accommodate cinder blocks – so many people use them for this purpose! I didn’t think companies went out of their way to go above and beyond anymore. This is a really sturdy system. The quality is greater than I ever expected. Directions were easy, I put it together myself. My boys are in love with it. Had a couple of pieces of hardware missing… Kyle in customer service was great! He made sure I got everything I needed. My son got a basketball hoop for his birthday and we had an accident with a car running over it bending a support beam. Hoops for young kids. Great for grandkids but I think teenagers would wreck it in no time. I bought this about a year ago and absolutely love it! The kids messed with the plug to the base and lost it! Great features, well made. The kids love it and its good to see them playing, and getting some exercise at the same time. Thank you so much! I had a problem to tie up one bolt and nut to attach the hoop. The nut did not go in straight and stuck halfway. Now I tied it up nicely and perfect. I like the prompt customer service! When it arrived it was missing some key parts. I contacted customer service and without a fuss they were willing to send the parts. I just received the parts and now happily playing ball. That is what I call great customer service and a willingness to standby their product! I wish more companies would do the same. It was a small dollar amount, they were very helpful. The installation was pretty simple and straightforward. The overall product seem sturdy enough. Only two improvements: 1. Attaching the hoop to the backboard and attaching it to the pole is very cumbersome because you have to hold everything together at the same time. The sand needs to dry otherwise you will have hard time filling the base with it. Maybe the hole could be bigger. Bought the 44′ Basketball system for my grandkids. Now my 10 year old grand daughter is out there practicing everyday. Had lots of kids help getting it put up. They did the work and I directed. They couldn’t wait to start shooting.
