The acrylic backboard of the 1269 is a more rigid material than the plastic backboard of the 1221. Acrylic’s stiffness produces better bank shots, rebounds and holds up better than the plastic backboard. Which is why the 1269 usually costs a bit more than the 1221. The assembly method, it can be imprecise at its highest setting. I ended up measuring and adjusting with wood to make sure I was getting exactly regulation height.
